7 DAYS OF MILITARY CHECKPOINTS in Mexico (van life in Baja)
Переглядів 42 тис.3 місяці тому
Two whole months ago, Jimmy and I crossed the US/Mexico border into Baja, Mexico. And since then, we’ve driven ALL the way down to the southern tip of the peninsula. Which leaves us here, in Cabo San Lucas, with an almost 20 hour drive and multiple military checkpoints in between us an our home country. We’ll be making this trek over the next 7 days, until we finally cross the notoriously diffi...

We’re Jimmy and Natalie, and we’re driving our van down to the southern tip of Baja. This week, we’ll be camping out in one of the best small towns on the peninsula, Todos Santos. With a population of just over 7,000 people, Todos Santos has gone under the radar for most of the world, but those who drive the entire Baja peninsula have seen why this place is considered one of Mexico’s Magic Town...

It’s week 4 of our road trip through Mexico, and we’ve made it to La Paz where we’re about to try sand boarding for the first time. If you’re like us, and have never heard of sand boarding before, it’s an extreme sport that’s really similar to snowboarding, but, you guessed it - on sand. Later we’ll take our van into La Paz for the farmers market and some local food, but first we’re loading up ...

That O2 phonebox at 7:38 gives that scene away as stock footage ;) The phoneboxes were removed in 2017 or 2018, and the souvenir shop opposite (with the red sign) is a café now 7:27 you're already in the castle, the building behind you is the cathedral

We dont say that the foam has any nutrients, it just protects the beer from going stale and has a nice creamy texture. Why do you misinform people about the things you are covering?

Nice video. I am sad I found it this late. I enjoyed your experience with our capital. I think you missed nothing by not paying the 22 euros for all the building access in Prague Castle, as you did see the most beautiful things there. Just a few things you got wrong: The beer foam is for keeping the test of the beer fresh for a longer time (good beer is mostly poured through the foam, so even during drafting, the beer is not oxidized). Second and last is that at 10:36, you are pointing outside of the castle. It is maintained in a way that it keeps the historical value, but it is no longer part of the castle. Otherwise, I loved watching you eat the fried cheese by hand 😅. It makes sanse when you consider it as a giant mozzarella stick, but Czech uses a fork and knife for it.

It's nice to see Prague from tourist perspective, thanks. And also thank you for showing me the beer garden. From the map, I thought you would go to the Franciscane Gardens or to the Church of Our Lady of the Snows. But I didn't know that U Pinkasů have this nice little beer garden right next to the church. I have to visit there sometimes too. Don't take it as an insult please, but when you ate the lunch, I was thinking "Why don't he use knife for that moravian sparrow?" and then it got even worse with the cheese :D. I have never seen anyone eating fried cheese with their hands but it was nice and cute :). And to be honest I think I commited similar or even worse food crimes abroad without even knowing. The most important thing is to enjoy your time :). Thank you for your video.

Btw the foam is there to keep the beer fresh longer. It protects the beer from air. It was invented before refridgerator afterall. This is also why it is cooled to 10°C, not 4°like in USA.

the one thing about the foam on the beer: the alternative is that it ends up foamy in your stomach. So more gas etc. If you are there again, its well worth the 22euro or whatever to go inside the St. Vitus Cathedral, there is some incredible art inside, including a large wooden carving of the a Prague scene with the escape of the Winter King in 1620 following the Battle of White Mountain, also the great hall in Prague Castle, and St. George's Basilica the much older Romanesque church from 920, and the Golden Lane.

What you see is not 1200 years old. It has been rebuild and modified many times. You can see some really old parts but also modern ones. The cathedral was finished in 1929 but they started building the present form roughly in 14th century. Also many buildings from that era around the Prague went through heavy modifications throughout the ages and what you see now is very influenced by Romantism of 19th century.
